JEAN LaBORDE, I.
Jean LaBorde, I. was born in Tartas,
Landes, France in 1683. He died on October 9, 1753 and
was
buried at the Church of St. Jacques, Tartas, France. He married
Marie
Fossato. He was the city mayor or manager, known as "Bourgeois
and
Treasurer of the Revenues" of the City of Tartas, Landes, France.
He was followed by Jean LaBorde, II. in those administrative
duties.
Tartas is located in Southwest France and is known for sheep production
and flocks of geese. From goose livers is made the famous "pate
du
grois".
