WHAT IS HAPPENING?

We are compiling a history of the Pierre LaBorde Family of  Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana.  See LaBorde Family Feature for more information about this family.  See the LaBorde Family Tree and follow the links or use your browser back button to return to this page.  Included are descendants of Dr. Pierre LaBorde, I, M.D. who was born on April 9, 1746 in Tartas, Landes, France.  He died before April 20, 1825 in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana.  He was the Surgeon General at Pointe Coupee Post (New Roads, Louisiana) and was active in cattle raising and farming in that area.  On September 30, 1783, he married Modeste LaCour, born December 1, 1767 of Pointe Coupee, who was a bride at 15 years of age, and they became the ancestors of the LaBorde Family of Avoyelles Parish. This family has links with names such as Bordelon, Desselle, Eaddy, Lemoine, Mayeux, Rachal, and Wall and many many others.
