Belony (Belonio) Claude Chatelain (Cathelin) was born on September 6,
1766 in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, LA. He was christened on September
11, 1766 in New Orleans. He was confirmed on November 20, 1796 in
Avoyelles Post, LA. He died before July 1825.

A livestock brand was registered for Belony Claude Chatelain in the "Mark
and Brand Book of Avoyelles" on June 17, 1792. He served in the War of
1812 as a private in the 17th, 18th, and 19th Consolidated Regiments,
Louisiana Militia.
