Notes for Jean Baptiste Thomas BORDELON

By 1711 J.B. Bordelon was employed at the port of Rochefort, France as
"directeur des vivres de la marine" of that port. Court records dated
1711-1712 in the Archives of the Port of Rochefort, it appears that he
had left his wife in Le Havre, and in 1719 Dame Magdeleine de Richouf,
his wife, sued for separation of their assets and got them. (Frm Some
Early Families of Avoyelles Parish - Gremillion. Vol I pg 17)
This Bordelon family was the only one found by Le Havre researchers
for the period of 1578-1792.

This page is dedicated to the men and women who braved great danger to come from France and other countries and worked under extremely difficult conditions in the Louisiana Wilderness to produce a better way of life for their descendants.  To all of them we are deeply indebted.
