Notes for Louis Edward LEPORATI, SR.

Louis was known as Papaw. He served as a navigator in B-17's and
B-25's during WW II. He received his training at Selman Field, Monroe, LA
where he met Sara. They eloped to Houston to be married. Louis was the
second child born in America and was baptized Luigi Massimo Leporati.
He had dark hair and dark brown eyes, a quiet demeanor and a respect
for all. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need, family or
other wise.
Louis was daily at the bedside of his father-in-law Ralph Griffith
as he passed on as well as at the side of his mother-in-law Sara Louise
Fuller Cann when she passed. He was always there for all of us when
needed.
Louis had worked with Louis LaBorde at La. Auto Parts years before
and had established a life long relationship. Through these two men were
Sara Louise Leporati and Louis D. LaBorde able to meet and marry. Thus
was the merger of the Leporati and the LaBorde families.

This page is dedicated to the men and women who braved great danger to come from France and other countries and worked under extremely difficult conditions in the Louisiana Wilderness to produce a better way of life for their descendants.  To all of them we are deeply indebted.
