Notes for Albert LABORDE

ALBERT LABORDE AND CAROLINE THOLOZAN
BY
ROBERT H. LABORDE, JR.

My paternal grandparents were residents of Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana
all of their lives. They raised pigs, cattle, chickens, and other
crops. Horace Laborde, brother of Albert also lived with them.

After Albert's mother died, Robert M. Morrow was appointed as his tutor
in December, 1869 and Marcelin Decuir so appointed in 1870.

Albert Laborde and Caroline Tholozan were wed in a civil marriage on May
29, 1879 in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana which was recorded in Book
D-entry 508. Witnesses were J. A. Moreau, Leon Tholozan and A. G.
Morrow. Witnesses to his earlier marriage in Avoyelles parish, Louisiana
to Alice Decuir on 20 April 1876 were J. A. Moreau, M. E. Decuir, and A.
G. Morrow.

This page is dedicated to the men and women who braved great danger to come from France and other countries and worked under extremely difficult conditions in the Louisiana Wilderness to produce a better way of life for their descendants.  To all of them we are deeply indebted.
