Notes for James TEMPLETON, SR.

Revolutionary War Vet. Cavalryman, served as horseman under Capt.
John Moffett in South Carolina patriot forces, 1779. Drew pay for 104
days of service in this capacity. Also shod three horses for public
service.
The earliest records found of Templeton(s) is in the form of land
grants in the office of the Secretary of State, Columbia, SC.
For a complete reference on the Templeton family and their "Coat of
Arms" predating the Crusades, refer to the book "Templeton Family History
by L.B. Templeton, copyrighted 1953. Very well done.

This page is dedicated to the men and women who braved great danger to come from France and other countries and worked under extremely difficult conditions in the Louisiana Wilderness to produce a better way of life for their descendants.  To all of them we are deeply indebted.
