Notes for James CREEL
James Creel was a surveyor. He obtained on May 10, 1802 a 1000
acre land grant at Cypress
Branch on the Little Pee Dee River below Centenary, SC. He sold 1300
acres on March 23, 1813 to Daniel Stone who later sold 670 acres to
Jesse
Creel on June 16, 1817.

Jesse Creel and Sarah Ann Creel were the children of James Creel and an
unknown wife before he married Elizabeth Bartell. Children of Elizabeth
Bartell and James Creel were John James Creel (b. 1824), Elizabeth Mary
Creel (b. 1822), and Martha B. Creel, birth unknown. Emily Creel,
Cotter
Creel, Mary Creel, and William Creel were all the children of Jesse
Creel
and Elizabeth ?? who was listed in the 1850 Census as 47.

In the name of God Amen:
I James Creel of said (Marion District) district being weak of body but
of sound mind and memory blefsed be Almighty God for the same do make
and
ordain this my Last will & testament in manner and form following
first I
recommend that my body be buried in a christian manner and that all my
Just debts be
paid I give and bequeath to my son Jefse Creel one dollar I also
bequeath to Sarah Ann Bradley One Cow and Calf then the ballance of my
Estate be equally divided between my wife Elizabeths Children I also
give
and bequeath unto my said children by my said wife all that part of her
Estate at her death or marriage to be equally divided between them I
also
bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth the lands plantation and house
also
one horse bridle and Saddle her lifetime
I do hereby appoint my wife my sole executrix and revoke all former
wills
by me made In witnefs whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal 12th
April 1825
Signed Sealed and published & declared by the above named James

be his last will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto
subscribed our names as witnefses:
