Notes for George Daniel BARR, I

The parents of George Daniel Barr, I. died in an epidemic when he was two
years old. He went to live with his uncle and aunt, Hugh Hanna, Jr. and
Elizabeth Kirkpatrick Barr. When he was a teenager, he made his way to
attend school in Greenville, SC and married Martha Jane McCann of
Slabtown. He later married Ida Marion Chandler who lived on the old
Flagler-Chandler Plantaton near Kingstree, SC. George Daniel Barr, I.
and Ida Marion Chandler met at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Lula Mobley
Barr in Kingstree, SC.
