Notes for Cadness Ann EADDY
The Census of Marion County in 1870 listed Cadness Ann Eaddy as the
"concubine" or common law wife of Calvin Hanna. A female named Cadnis
A. Eaddy was listed as a member of the Sunday School Class at Prospect
Methodist Episcopal Church about 1853.
Source: Shirley Hanna Holt supplied the information regarding listing of
Cadness Ann Eaddy in the 1870 Census of Marion County, SC.
Cadness Ann (Eaddy) Hanna was born March 14, 1837 and died January 12,
1916. The cause of death reported on her Certificate of Death was a
broken wound from a fractured hip.
Jason Cockfield reported in "Sermons In Stones," Vol. II. that she may
have been buried in Hugh Hanna Family Cemetery, Vox, SC, next to Calvin
Hanna where a wooden stake was found. No positive identification was
found on the stake.
