Notes for Mary Camellia OWENS

Mary Camellia Owens married Robert James Eaddy, Sr. and to them were born
one daughter who died at two years of age and two sons. Mary was left
behind while Robert James Eaddy, Sr. was away serving in the Confederate
Army. She farmed the land and took care of her two sons. It was
reported that a man and his son were CSA draft evaders. They had hidden
in the Lynches River Swamp to evade serving. The two would sneak out at
night and steal food from those living nearby. They once attempted to
steal some food from Mary Eaddy's barns and smokehouse. She changed
their minds with a load of buckshot aimed at their backsides. She was
not victimized again by those two souls. After the death of Robert James
Eaddy, Sr., she married Daniel Richardson on February 15, 1871.
