Notes for Rosa Mae WHITLOCK

notes from story in THE LAKE CITY POST on Monday, November 9, 1970:

After teaching English, foreign languages, and history in the Scranton
High Schools for 35 years, Mrs. Rosa W. Rodgers needed a past time when
she retired. She looked into the many forms of needle wok and now does
much of her decorating in stitchery as well as many of her gift items.

Mrs. Rodgers uses also every type of needle work including tatting,
peritipoint, embroidery crewel, needlepoint, and cut work. She does not
knit sily because no one has ever shown her the stitches.

All of the dinning room hairs in Mrs. Rodgers; house are vocered with her
work as well as much of her living room furniture. Pillows in
peritipoint and crewel are everywhere as well as framed stitches copies
of famous art treasurers. ...

Mrs. Rodgers has lived in the Cap Branch area near Lake City all of her
life. She has one son, John David Rodgers, and three grandchildren,
Tammy Johnny, and Lonnie.
