Notes for Elphege Wayne LABORDE

Judge Elphege Wayne LaBorde was the oldest Justice of the Peace in
Louisiana with the longest term in office. He was the only Justice of
the Peace who never had a case appealed to higher court.

campaigning for re-election, which he won.

Wynn LaBorde owned a dance hall north of Marksville on the former site of
the Avoyelles Poor Farm.

This page is dedicated to the men and women who braved great danger to come from France and other countries and worked under extremely difficult conditions in the Louisiana Wilderness to produce a better way of life for their descendants.  To all of them we are deeply indebted.
