Obituary: The Franklin Sun July 21, 1960

Douglas A. LaBorde

Funeral services for Douglas LaBorde, farmer-merchant of Swampers
community were held at 3 p.m. today at Fish Bayou Baptist Church. The
Rev. Johnny Allen officiated.

A native of Franklin Parish, Mr. LaBorde died Wednesday in a local
clinic. He was 51 years old. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rachel
Scott LaBorde; three daughters, Mrs Betty Bryan, Mrs Elaine Clark, and
Miss Ann LaBorde, all of Swampers, his mother Mrs. Della LaBorde,
Swampers; four brothers, J. E., Jack and Cleon LaBorde, all of Swampers,
and Clyde LaBorde of Fort Smith, Arkansas; three sisters, Mrs. Zelma
Flowers, Holly Ridge, Mrs. Molly Welch, and Mrs Edna Stricland, both of
Swampers.

Pallbearers were Enoch Welch, Willie Ray Strickland, David LaBorde, John
J. LaBorde, Jimmy Ray Hoover, and E. C. Goodrum.

Interment was in Harris Cemetery, Franklin Parish, LA.
