GERALDINE (EADDY) PATTERSON

Geraldine Marilyn Eaddy earned a masters degree at the University of SC
and became a teacher.

Columbia - Services for Geraldine Eaddy Patterson will be held at 2:00
p.m. today at Shandon United Methodist Church with entombment in
Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to the American
Heart Association or Shandon United Methodist Church. Dunbar Funeral
Home, Gervais Street Chapel is in charge.

Mrs. Patterson, wife of the late Joseph Crider Patterson, died Tuesday,
January 30, 2001. Born in Johnsonville, she was a daughter of the late
Samuel Olin and Nina Carson Eaddy. She was a beloved first grade teacher
for 43 years, noted for her musical productions with her first grade
students as well as for their academic achievements. She was a former
state president of the Association for Childhood Education, teacher of
the year, member of Alpha Delta Kappa and Kappa Kappa Iota teacher
sororities and Eau Claire Music Club. The was a member of Shandon United
Methodist Church where she served as pianist for the Goodwill Sunday
School Class and a member of the choir.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph C. "Pat" Patterson, III
and Flora Beth Patterson of Charlotte; daughter and son-in-law, Susan P.
and Hal VonNessen of Columbia; sisters, Audrey Eaddy Parsons of
Greenwood, and Nella Rae Eaddy Faircloth of Charlotte; and grandchildren,
Joey VonNessen and Courtney Patterson.
