Notes for Jenny EADDY

There is a possibility that Jenny Eaddy (Eddy) could have been called
"Jincy". This person was named in a property deed, dated June 9, 1806.
The deed states, "... Samuel Eaddy (Eddy, Sr.) of Sumter District, S. C.
for natural affection towards Daniel S. Eaddy (Eddy), 20 Negroes and five
shillings to Samuel Eaddy (Eddy), Jr., Jincy Eaddy, and James Eaddy
(Eddy). It is presumed that Jincy Eddy was Jenny Eaddy and James Eddy
was James Alexander Eaddy (Eddy). All were the children of Samuel Eaddy,
Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Singletary.

On November 28, 1806, Mary Eddy, Samuel Eddy, Jr. Jincy Eddy sold to
Daniel S. Eddy some Negroes for $700. This was the same family including
Mary Elizabeth Singletary (Mother), Samuel Eaddy, Jr., Jincy Eddy (Jenny
Eaddy), and Daniel Singletary Eaddy.

On December 1, 1806, Samuel Eddy, Sr. of Sumter was paid $1,000 by Daniel
S. Eddy of Sumter for Negroes.
