Notes for James Alexander EADDY

It is known that the James Eddy, II. family changed its name to Eaddy
between 1819 and 1848. It is believed that the Samuel Eddy, Sr. family
did likewise. Samuel Eddy, Sr. was a Revolutionary War soldier in the
Francis Marion Brigade at the same time as his father and brother served.

Some sources quote the birth of James Alexander Eaddy about 1780. It is
believed that he was the James Eaddy listed on the Williamsburg County
Tax List in 1811 and was also the James Eaddy cited in the brawl which
was the first case tried in Williamsburg County, SC.
