Notes for Mary Catherine EADY

A letter dated March 31, 1978 from Cyril J. Floyd, 2545 Anastasia Drive ,
South Daytona, Florida 32019 states, " My Grandmother, Mary Catherine
Eady Hicks, became blind about 1912 at Lake Kerr, Fla. She visited Aunt
Joanna Eady Parker in Madisonville, KY in 1916 and about 1920, Aunt
Joanna visited Grandmother at Summerfield, Fla., and their brother,
Oliver Eady, at St. Petersburg. I think it was about the time their
Mother, Mrs. Susannah Adriel Eady , was buried. She was born in
Williamsburg District, South Carolina and interred in Adamsville
Cemetery, Coleman, Fla."

Mrs. Joanne (Hicks) Godwin stated that, "My grandmother Mary Catherine
(Eady) Hicks died when I was a baby; but, I grew up steeped in the
stories of her gentleness, her sound knowledge of both the Old and New
Testaments, and the love of her family and community for her. Her son,
Thomas Grady Hicks who was my father, bore the same print."
