OBITUARY OF ELBERT J. EADDY, Sr.

The Post and Courier, Charleston, SC. Saturday, Page 2-B, July 4, 1998.

Elbert J. "Catfish" Eaddy, 82, a retired maintenance supervisor with Lake
City Housing Authority, died Thursday in a Florence hospital. The
funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday in Brockington Funeral Home. Burial
will be in Lake City Memorial Park. Mr Eaddy was born in Williamsburg
County, a son of Oscar Eaddy and Ivey Altman Eaddy. He was a charter
member of the Lake City Rescue Squad and Lower Florence County Rural Fire
Department. He was a Mason. He was an active member of Lake City United
Methodist Church and the widower of Ora Hanna Eaddy. Surviving are two
sons, E. J. Eaddy, Jr. of Olanta and Rich Eaddy of Lake City; two
sisters, Fannie Mae James of Coward and Odine Thompson of Charleston;
three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
