Notes for Samuel Olin EADDY


Samuel Olin Eaddy was a very talented man with many interests and
abilities. He was a merchant businessman, farmer, musician, writer, and
educator. He held the positions of Superintendent of Schools in
Orangeburg and Florence Counties in South Carolina. He owned and edited
the Berkeley Gazette Newspaper. He was the author of poetry and an
accomplished musician who played many instruments. Among his favorites
were piano, violin, and accordion. He also served eight years in the
South Carolina House of Representatives.
