Notes for Child Two EDDY

A person named James Eaddy reported the loss of his first wife and two
children in a shipwreck upon arrival in Charleston, SC. Their names and
sexes are unknown. This was reported in a petition for land in 1728-1731
in which he claimed additional land because of the loss of his family
consisting of a wife and two children. We are uncertain that James
Eddy, I. and James Eaddy of the shipwreck are the same persons, nor if
these children are the same ones lost at sea. The records do not reveal
that a grant of land was ever made to this petition.
